Interior light not turning off?

Interior light not turning off?
Trying to troubleshoot why my overhead interior lights are not turning off when in the "auto" position. The footwell lights turn off after the door is closed and a waiting period, but the overhead lights are staying on. Trunk light and footwell lights seem to be working just fine; it's just the overhead.
- overhead lights not turning off when in the auto postion
- footwell lights do turn off after door is closed and after waiting period
- Trunk light appears to be working fine
- footwell lights turn on when trunk is open
- footwell lights turn on when car is unlocked with remote
Anybody have any ideas? I have searched the forum and not come up with much.

Reviving this thread as I'm having this issue. My car was in the shop getting work done and the battery was likely disconnected for days. Have had the car back for months and its yet to reset.
In the neutral position: Lights stay on if car is running but turn off when locked. In this position they should turn off once the car is started and the doors are closed.
In off position they stay off and on position they stay on so working OK

Thanks for sending Desmo. I recall seeing this while researching and checked everything they discussed. My shop will likely have to plug in the car and double check the ground. Issues like this can drive you nuts.

Issue after New Battery Install 2008 997 Turbo
I had a new battery installed and I had this issue where the interior lights wouldn’t turn off. Went back and sure enough there’s a setting that said “rear decklid light” that was set to on. Turned it off and now interior lights turn on and off as they should when the door is open with lights set to the neutral position. Again this was on my 2008 997 Turbo.

I had to have my re-coded after a battery going completely dead.
Happened a again a few years later, and the lighting module would not keep the programming so the lighting module needed to be changed out.
