Default I searched but I give up... ratcheting sound as I press clutch.

Noise is getting worse. It's not the switch noise I've read about but more of a series of clicks as almost fully depressed to the floor. So annoying more than anything and I can tell it's getting more obvious. Just turned 50k on the clock. Help and thanks!

Mine does the same at ~60k and I'm pretty sure it's the assist spring but it doesn't seem to have any functional issue. Next time it's warm and I have spare time I'm going to try some lube but mine sure sounds like a spring rubbing against the housing as expands under full compression.

I'll check the spring assist. It's a racket for sure. I just turn up the radio but I can actually feel it on my toes. Hahahaha. So lame. And why does it start to rub?

I had the pedal pivot bushing on my 99 c4 start to creak and crunch. A little spray with triflow and it went away in a day or so, never came back.

A little spray where exactly? There's a lot of business going on on the clutch peddle up there..?

The noise could be from something with the external clutch pedal linkage. I've never had this problem with my Turbo but I vaguely recall the Boxster's clutch pedal linkage developing some squeaks and a tech applied some lubrication at some locations and the squeaks went away.

Worth a shot in your car's case.

But the clicking suggests to me the needle bearings that the clutch control shaft pivots in are the source of the noise and these won't get better.

Every time the transmission has been out of my Turbo -- once for a new transmission, and again for an RMS -- the tech always replaces these needle bearings and some other hardware in that area as a precaution.

Awesome, it could for aure be needle bearings, the way it feels and sounds.
