There must be an option box buried somewhere in the Porsche ordering system that allows owners to control the weather while driving. I guess I missed that and just drive my car whenever I feel like it.

It does rain in Germany - and I doubt drivers there are pulling over and covering their engines with plastic bags so they won't get wet. Unless your engine is made out of suede.......

the reason I don't drive my 911's in the rain is because I live in San Francisco and in the past 40 years I've been rear ended 3 times.

so when it rains, I drive my old beater. 2000 ml320

I use a special tank to hold the water to wash my car so it doesn't come through the garden hose pipes and I fill it with artesian spring water from fiji... in a pinch, i can refill the tank using the brita purifier, but i try to give it an artesian bath as soon as possible afterwards since i dont trust the brita.. the blackstone labs analysts laughed at my samples so I dont have hard data yet.

powdrhound of all people is certainly the man to treat his car like a garage decoration, I cant imagine what he would do. the horror!

I actually overfilled my water tank so I watered the whole parking lot and surrounding plants one morning

You don't want to use water that sits in the tank for long, it becomes oxygenated and loses its purity

My Boxster has been rear-ended twice now. In dry weather too. Both times stopped at a stop light. Damn asswipe drivers and their stupid cell phones.

I've had 3 not-at-fault fender benders in the last 2 years, many Seattle drivers suck. Got rear ended too (car), guy blew a red light on a blind corner.

Last time a guy took a left in front of me when we both had green.
He gets out of his car and says "but my light was green"...

I'm convinced daily that people have forgotten how to drive or just don't care.

Frustrating, but still better than the good ol' days of single car collisions...
