Lol, my wife would absolutely kill me if that happened! And prohibit me from visiting RL and 6speed!

I just want to see if I substantiate the OP's claims of "lot of affordable 996tts available." To be honest I can't locate many 996tts in the US in the 1st place, let alone many that are "affordable," at least ones that are not tip/salvage/odd interior color.... I'm thinking troll...

It will cost high 40s low 50s to get a nice stock 996t with a 6spd and decent colors- lower miles. The up side take care of it - keep it stock and it will bring more in a few years/sell easily.

T10 Chris...I wish. I too would be killed by my wife. BTW, I was a 53 year old bachelor, lived alone much of his life, had to learn the words "yes hon". In days of old, I would just go out and buy man stuff. Now I have to "discuss" purchases, which is ok. I have 17 boats, 3 motorcycles, 8 vintage karts, 2 houses 4 collector cars, in addition to 3 daily drivers. Buy I buy from thrift stores anD have hold in my socks, seriously. I got the 996 in May, and immediately discovered 996TTs...too much is just enough...

For the doubters, I have found 4. One got away, I'm learning not to hesitate. One is a salvage title, and one is un modded. Just about when I was ready to make a decision, anotHer pops up. Been traveling in Alaska with intermittent wi-fi.

Talk doesn't cook rice. I will have a 996 TT ASAP, wife allowing....

I just purchased 2002 6MT 30K miles Midnight Blue / Metropol for $42K. I'm hoping that was a decent deal. Not my first choice of color, but it's growing on me. Maybe eventually I can find a grey/white/red/yellow car, though.

My first ever Porsche, super exciting!

^ You got a great deal if its stock with a clean history, I would take the blue over all the colors listed= but that's a personal preference. I married at 48 the same year I retired and have much in common with drcheap , just a little less thrifty lol.

Yup, car is stock other than aftermarket wheels (came with twisties too) and tint. Clean history and records.

I just don't have the patience to take car of dark colored cars, haha. I guess I'll have to suck it up

Looks like a lot of people are picking up clean examples in the low 40k range!

Personally, I feel drcheap is just posting a bit of propaganda/where he "wishes" prices would be (hence the fact there is no link for the car he mentioned that was 49k miles and super clean for $40k)...with the hopes that it will come true if he says it enough.

Rather than sitting around and hoping these car prices will fall to the levels you want... go out and hustle a little harder so you can afford a nice clean example at market price.

Also, Yinzer... that car at Chariots hardly has a good history. No service records. Has been to Canada, Florida, Chicago, Rhode Island, Ohio... not so much as one documented oil change. Was on the market before I bought mine (2 months ago) and still hasn't sold. Something is off there...

Funny you mention that car. I was excited when I found it online, but after a quick CarFax report, it looked very sketchy and I chose to disregard.

Additionally, I feel buying car from private owner is usually the best as you can find out more about its history.

Ah that makes sense then why it's that price.
