Default A shout out to Stevinson Porsche, Pelican Parts and of course Kevin

All, A shout out to Stevinson Porsche, Pelican Parts and Kevin at Ultimate Motorwerks.......

Pardon the long post but needed to pass this on. I needed to have my clutch replaced in the 03 996TT. I shopped reputable shops up the front range and Stevinson matched one of the most reputable shops in the area. So I went with the dealer solution. I ordered my clutch kit (Stage 1) from Pelican. I also ordered several other things so they could be done at the same time: Engine mounts, F hose, Diverter valves etc. Those were a separate quote but hey it was easy to do at that time. The stage 1 kit from Pelican came in and after several conversations with the manufacturer it was installed. After delivery the kit installed was not what was promised (very Off/On). Many emails back and forth and the Sachs 764 pressure plate and the stock TT clutch disk would give the best hold for a slightly higher HP TT (Per Kevin at Ultimate). You can hit the GT2 solid clutch disk if you want. But Kevin offered advice with no monetary compensation and after a re-install the TT is running hard. There are plenty of us with bolt on mods that need a better gripping clutch and no need to go to a racing clutch. Kevin's clutch setup is the best in the business. Many people shun the dealerships. But alI can say is ask and negotiate. Kip and Chance at Stevinson did one hell of a job. Don't always judge a book by its cover.

Kevin, Once again you are the man..................

Might as well join the crowd. Can't say enough great things about Pelican Parts. Great customer service.

Stevinson-Great to hear about the service department. Experience with the sales side was disappointing last year.

out of curiousity, what were the driving characteristics of both disks (stock and GT2)? Which flywheel did you go with?

Well the original Spec pressure plate and the GT2 style clutch disk was off on. The Sachs 764 with stock sprung clutch disk is as smooth as butter.

Although they could not find anything wrong with my stock DM flywheel I decided to replace it anyway (84k). Put a stock DM flywheel back in place. The car is VERY streetable and was really fun on the track.

Hope that helps

It does, i'm about to embark on the same move. I've decided against the LWFW, will go DM (will replace just to replace since it's open). Think i'm gonna go with Kevin's 2.5/3.0 kit
