steve, you are anomaly here particularly in view of the light of the fact the absent building gearboxes you are quite capable of repairing most day to day stuff. this places you in the minority here in direct opposition and contrast to the sanctimoniousness that this rooms reeks of as this 'holier than though' misguided false level of "self importance" that permeates this forum. i've said all this at least once said and no doubt all before and i'm sure to the chagrin of many here that haunt this mausoleum of artificially inflated bastion of misguided yet obvious high mindedness lol.

Know that the ranks of those who value these depreciated cars and can maintain them, can grow; though some will fall to the wayside.

I'm one new owner (to the forum also) who values and can maintain this car, going in fully understanding the possible needs.

understand mark that i didn't include any labor cost. only that a clean turbo doesn't have to have a huge maintenance cost. oil changes are a 1 scale diy. my first oil change i went to the dealer for a filter and washers. 50$ later i vowed never to set foot into that dealership again.
now if i had stopped there and not modded i could have afforded another PORSCHE!!

After hunting, I nabbed an 01 tt with 58k miles yesterday. Im going to pick it up or ship it out here this week. I took some advice from the board and found one that had been well taken care of and ended up paying a bit more than my budget of 40k, but in the long run i think it was worth it. When I get it here, I will post some pics.

Thanks to all for the help and advice.

I think all the CF is a bit much, but I guess I can live with it.

Ah, that's a gorgeous car. My '99 aerokit coupe was black on black. The cf breaks up the black nicely. Love the Fikse wheels - I have never seen that model before. They look like 19's. Depending on where you live, you might want to consider 18's though. Looks to be very high quality car. Congrats!

Congrats, I bought the same color combo just 11 months ago.
Lots of great information and helpful users on this forum, enough to keep this fn iPod in my hands more than I care to admit.
