Seriously thinking about this car

The car in question has under 14k miles on it (13,689 to be exact, as referenced in the advertisement). As I said in qualifying my comments..."very low mile 996 Turbos". I think under 14k miles qualifies as "very low mile".

Actually that borders on shocking. That floor mat should be the poster child for anybody who actually thinks it is worth paying a premium to a Porsche franchise dealer when buying a 12 year old used car. The boys at the dealership really went over that car with a fine tooth comb before offering it up to the public. Old world craftsmanship and attention to detail on display there.
I won't disagree however that the majority of price opinions in this forum are not in line with actual sales prices in the market today.

give me a break, a typo
In 2002, the turbo offered an X50 option would include larger turbochargers (K24 turbos) and intercoolers, a revised ECU and exhaust which raised output to 450HP. Other features introduced in 2002, was a glove box, center mounted cup-holders, an optional Bose stereo and rain-sensing wipers

There is usually a huge difference in a car with 60k verses 13k especially in the interior condition- not to say there aren't exceptions. Prices are going up with the nice cars bringing a premium. Most for sale are modded and or have higher miles and yes those can be bought for 40s.

I also agree with the post that if you are going to play in the 996tt market, a $3-5k maintenance bill can't scare you off. Even a 12 year old Honda can have a large repair bill, and Porsche labor and parts are a factor more expensive.

Looks like a nice low mile turbo. Nothing seems worn over the miles indicated....except that mat dock pointed out. IDK that is strange....maybe it was a woman driving that manual trans turbo?..... with stilettos?
But if its hard to get a ppi one thing you can do is read the ecu's hours and see if it jives with the cluster's miles.......it's at a Porsche dealer/should do it for you for free.

What are your intentions for this car? For a garage queen it's a beautiful example. As a base for a series of mods, find a higher mileage car.
P.S. That floor mat cannot be the original floor mat from that car. The car doesn't have a single flaw on it. It must have been swapped with the original, mint one.

The real question is would any of you here pay 60k for that car?
I sure wouldn't when cars that may have 10k -15k more miles are going for $10-$15 less. The fact that it's at a dealer already means paying a premium.
There are plenty of deals out there on these cars and esp with winter upon us you will have ample time to search with in sure more available cars to look at.
I like the idea of these cars going up in value, but I didn't buy mine to flip it, I bought it to enjoy. If the market hit rock bottom I wouldn't even care as my exp with this car has been phenomenal.

I bought mine six months ago. I looked for 3-4 months before finding anything decent. Most of the cars in the low - mid 40s had higher mileage and showed it. You can still get a nice car in the low - mid 40s if you are patient. I bought mine in that range but immediately put 6k into to bring preventative maintenance up to date, new tires, rims (ok those were not 'needed').
Anything in the 30s is garbage. I don't care what you say, I saw a lot personally. Most in the low 40s are garbage as well. This particular car is high at 60k but probably won't be purchased for less than 53-55k.
