i did used to have it on a trickle charger, i guess i can put it back on. So far, since I replaced that switch and cleared the codes the last time (about a week and a half ago), they have come on only once- on the ride home immediately after having cleared the codes.

a battery that is low, even unbeknownst to you? can cause issues as crazy as a "cam position sensor, below threshold under limit"..

and change the battery or ctek it? all codes gone. though i did buy a shiny new cam position sensor before i even bothered ctek'ing the battery! doh!

this car cannot be properly maintained without frequent overnights on the ctek. even if daily driven! trust me. voltage HOGS and double click the alarm on key fob til it beeps ONCE so as to disable the cabin motion detection infrared. car is then in full "sleep" mode.

Also, don't forget that an ignition switch going bad will create electrical gremlins all over the place. $12 part and 30 minutes to change it. If it ain't bad now, it probably will go at the least convenient moment. Not a bad idea to keep a spare one in the car - very common failure item.

I had the same issue with the PSM light randomly coming on , but mine was followed by a low brake fluid warning light. I topped off the brake fluid and wallah!!!! No lights have come back since.

I get the same issue with too much or too little brake fluid and under high g corners.

i think i may have figured out the problem: mismatched tire wear back to front. It recently developed a problem where flat out in second gear, it would simply stop accelerating at around 5500 rpm, hang for a second, and then continue through the rev range. With the traction control off, this problem would disappear. I just replaced the front tires, hopefully that will solve all my issues. now all that's left to fix is the damn check engine light due to an evap system issue! Does anyone know if a tune can disable all such check engine light issues?

hi all, resurrecting an old thread after searching. Went to Mid Ohio track yesterday for an open track day, lots of laps! was plagued by a warning light coming on a few times and killing the engine momentarily. I'm doing 130 down the back straight and hit the kink and the engine momentarily cuts out...not really looking at the tiny warning lights at that point! But did notice the ABS light flash momentarily. New tires which are a few percent difference in size due to lack of good sizing compatibility. Could that really be it? Turned off PSM in the afternoon and no more problems.

Another question for you trackies, my rear calipers turned orangish in color - got really hot. Fronts still bright red. Running semi track pads, the the rotors, calipers, hubs and wheels are pretty darn hot. Normal for rears to overheat worse than fronts? Do have the GT3 cooling ducts up front. Read something about the ECU biasing the brakes front to rear? Is there a GT3 cooling duct that can be added to the rear?

PS, the 3" eRams worked great at the track.

No problem with your tires, your PSM was just doing it's job, keeping you between the white lines. It's logic is quite restrictive, more than 997's or 991's.

This will happen when tracking your car with PSM on.

Dave are you running two new tires and two old? It seems like you are and if that is the case than yes, the tire mismatch is the cause. Not only is the sizing causing a problem but the different grip levels between old and new tires can cause major PSM issues. I have experienced it myself. As the new tires wear in the issue should stop.

Hi Carlo, I have brand new Bridge Potenza S04's. Was going to only use them for street, but didn't think my track set would last the day. They actually did pretty well on the track. I am in Atlanta and don't have my cheat sheet with me, but the rears are something like 305/35 19 and the fronts are 225/35 19 if not mistaken. not a great match diameter wise. I have run the car at two day events before with no issues, but I was pushing it pretty hard for the open track day on Monday. Probably the nanny was overworking the rear brakes on the S's in the morning.

So you were running new tires all around? Something still doesn't seem right. When you get a chance check those sizes and let me know if they are correct.

take your car to a specialist, it is the best recom.

good luck!

I believe he said he had 305/35 19 and 225/35 19. When running 19s, I think the correct sizes should be 315/25/19 and 235/35/19 (although I am not expert on tire sizes).
