Annual maintenance costs
#18
2014 was my first year with the car. I bought it from a guy who just wanted some of the previous owners upgrades off it and put everything back to stock. So he never drove it. It had been sitting for close to a year. Total bills to the mechanic ended up being around $3200, give or take. I'm hoping that since I have actually been driving the car, this year will be less. This doesn't count my mod budget though. That's another story...

Bought my car a year ago, 44K miles one owner well maintained car. I put 12k miles this past year from March to December as a DD which included a 3k mile road trip and a few track days. 3 oil changes, one at dealership and 2 DIYs, bled the brakes DIY before track events. I did hit a major pothole and blew out a rear tire so I purchased 2 new rears, but that was the only expense besides the oil changes.

I am in the $2k - $3k per year range. I have had a couple of unscheduled repairs -- window microswitch, deck lid fan, trunk latch and coolant tank. The rest was just maintenance -- oil changes, tires, brake flush, brakes, plugs, etc. There is no doubt that expensive things can break, however, for similar performance one would be hard pressed to spend less on another supercar. As an aside, for 60K service do you all recommend doing coils along with the plugs (even if the coils "look" OK)?
ps. I have owned the car 3.5 years and 27k miles (58k total)

its gotta be over a few k a year for me and tip top shape. this is plus the never ending yet relatively "inexpensive" discretionary/unecessary(?! mods. spent a few since yesterday considering 2 tires and 2 tail lamps.
it adds up.

Also, I dont think you have to replace them all at once, but I would take a close look, any hairline cracks, then replace those ones.
Ofcourse, if you've got money to burn then change them so you dont have to worry.

forgive me, but thats not a great idea at all! never piecemeal stuff like coils or plugs. why bring uncertainty into the equation! it won't be burnt money thats for sure

Quarterly Bump for more poll results.
just dropped $1200 for new shoes... Should last me 5 years with the little I drive. Went with Hankook Evos and I'm quite happy...Not as sticky as Pirellis but still a great tire so far... Next set will be PS2's since Hankooks are discontinued.
