Just picking up on this thread. I run the same tyre / cch-r wheel combo on my 996 turbo. Have been having non stop handling problems with the car. Have replaced the main suspects in terms of suspension plus new pss10s and H&R sway bars yet the car still handles like a shopping trolley. Just wondering if the 12 inch rears are stretching the 315s too much and creating handling problems. Any thoughts ?

Anybody else have experience running 19 inch wheels on a 996 turbo?
After reading this thread seems like people love the look of 19's on the turbo,
but handling is being compromised.
The reason for my interest is that I have a set of 997 gt3 wheels 8.5x19 and 12x19 that look awesome but I have to spend money on the tires. Don't want to spend money only to find out I hate the ride/handling after my purchase!
Thanks guys.

Everything I have seen on the net says 19s are worse...I don't have 19s, so take that with a grain of salt. In theory, they could be quite good with less sidewall flex....if you could find light enough wheels, I don't see why they would be so bad...and the michelin super sports probably can be found that way.....
So, curious too if anyone has 19 wheels that "work well" for say DE.
