Very cool, indeed. E500 developed by Porsche as well... but from a different era. During the late 1990ies, Porsche was just so short of money, they sold everything they could. Also engineering services. The also helped Seat to develop their "Ibiza" model in Spain. ****ty car but with a Porsche logo under the hood.

Does the Merc have anything like that?
