BBS E88 sizes and tyre sizes
Hi, I am considering buying a set of these awesome wheels and wondered if anyone can tell me the best size to use?
Have read you can improve front end grip and turn in by going wider than stock at the front and improve traction by doing similar at the rear.
My car is mainly used on the street and for what you guys would call canyon blasting ( the English equivalent...) and I will be using road tyres. I am getting some Ohlins R&T dampers and getting the geo set up shortly, but changing else on the suspension apart from some new bushes. ( Adjustable arms etc would be good, but not really required for street driving I am told..?)
Bearing that in mind, whats the ideal size to order the wheels in please and what tyre sizes to run with these? I have a limited understanding of the ET system I am afraid.
Thank you!

0288120 1.5" and 7.5" barrels 9x18 et 42 with 245
0288107 2.5" and 9.0" barrels 11.5x18 et 61 with 315
show the above to your dealer, if they dont understand it, then they are not real BBS dealers
running 8.5" BBS upfront would be idiotic, you NEED 9" and on my track 6gt3 i run 9.5 (this will not work on street car). 9" is the limit up front for street cars
rear you can do 11", but i like 11.5

Be very careful about rear tyre sizes!
On this side of the pond, you'll find your choice is severely limited to PS2 (15 year-old technology) or (crap, IMHO) Pirelli Rossos.
Sticking to 11" rims & 295/30 will give you more scope to select some modern rubber.
I run 245/35x19 on my 996 GT3 & the only thing that rubs is the front arch liner on full lock. No arch rolling required.

OK, in that case, looks like I will go with 9 on the front and 11's on the rear - If I stick with 11 rear, the tyre width would be 295, yes?
Nick, what tyres would you recommend? I use MPSS on my M3, and that's what are on my standard GT3 wheels.....Is there anything better do you think? Not too worried about wet grip, as she is a garage queen and sunny day driver....
Have found Pilot sport cup 2's to match front and rear, they look good?

^ i want that wing blade
i like your suburban/yukon too.when they shove a duramax into it, i will buy two.
tell me about the silver G body
9" you shouldn't have to roll fenders (but every car is differeent, strange but true).
at 9.5" you HAVE TO roll and pull fender.
11.5 is fine
i ran 9 and 11.5 on my cherry street 996gt3 years ago. all OEM suspension. no rubbing
on track 996gt3 i ran 9.5 and 12" pull and rolled fender A LOT

Every car must be different. I initially did 9 and 12 on stock suspension with aggressive camber, no rolled fenders.
After one lapping session, my front tires looked like this:
After that track day, the inside of my rear tires looked like this:
That was because the trailing control arms looked like this:
I've since rolled the front fenders and accepted the front liners are taking the abuse. I changed the rear wheels to 11.5 and no longer have any rubbing in back.

when i ran 12" rear, my fender was rolled and PULL out like 1.25", where rear fender lip meets the bumper was shaved off. it is not recommended for street car.

The Pirelli Trofeo R is an even better tyre (ie. softer compound) with more dry grip. They tend to wear faster than most performance tyres & cost 40% more but if you want maximum grip these are the best.

What are the weight savings with E88 over OEM? Are they as light as OZ Alleggerita? Seeing this thread has be thinking I want to keep my car and get some E88s for the street! Such a hot wheel!
