Default WTB: OEM shifter cables

https://rennlist.com/forums/parts-marketplace/970221

Cross post from the classifieds. I'm putting my car back to stock to sell so I'm looking for a set of used OEM shift cables. If anyone has something laying around, let me know.

Also, my car has the Cup shifter also, if someone is interested in an exchange of the cup cables and cup shifter for their factory gear (with cash adjustment my way) let me know.

996 GT3 Cup (hopefully). We plan on moving to the US within the next few years so the GT3 would have to be sold before then anyhow whereas I can bring the cup with me. I figured I may as well do it now while prices are strong and it eliminates the potential of an on track incident (which is always a possibility!). I will get back into one of these or a GT4 once settled in the States!

Are the cables different between the 996 GT3 and 996 Turbo? I've got turbo shift cables that came out of my car a couple of months ago..

Actually just checked and the part number are different; probably no help to you.

I've already got cup cables, but would be interested in the cup shifter. The turbo and GT3 shifter share the same part number.. Not sure where the difference in the cables are though.

That is a shame, how many miles has your shifter done? May be interested if I can find a set of cables. PM me if you like.

Not sure if interested, but I have an almost new RS shifter boot that I no longer use.

Also a different part number, but I think the cables from the 6TT, 7TT, all GT3s and GT2s are interchangeable- just different part numbers and prices.

When I am looking on parts diagrams it lists a specific part number for different variation, but when looking up part numbers individually it lists compatibility on all models across the board.. The 7.1 GT3 uses the 996 part number, the later models have a different one.

Sorry to hear your selling it. But it's for a good reason. I did the same 16 years ago (moved from Sydney to the US, originally in Boston, but NJ the last 13 years) and as a car guy, I don't regret it one bit. Today there is several 997 RS's, several 996 GT3's, a Racecar, a proper tow vehicle, a motor home and several nice road cars in the stable, none of which would have been even thinkable back home. But most of all, I enjoy the flexibility it gave to my 'car life' because of the access to every aspect of it here in the US.

Feel free to ping me if you ever have any questions for someone who has been through it.
