Update on the opportunity: unfortunately the current owner decided to keep it for now. He probably made the right decision from his standpoint...
I will keep looking that's for sure!

Default 996 GT3 MKI Clubsport

I was wondering why nobody of you was taking about the upgraded modelyear 2001 cars. The last 508 cars were produced with only a few Clubsports. Unfortunately I have such a rare Speedyellow one without airco, radio etc.

What were the official upgrades for 2001 models ?

- electric switches to open front & reat bonnet
- steel synchros on some gear (2,3,4 ?)
- additional gearbox radiator ?
- alcantara roof ?

anything else/different ?

There is no external gear oil cooler. (unfortunately) But the steel synchros are nice to have at least.

The is a 2001 model for sale in France at the moment.

2001 M003 - Speedyellow with good carbon package (recaros, front & rear console + dashboard) and only 32,000 KM

http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/342172269.htm

Price has been reduced from 55K to 50K euros and still doesn't sell

(Yes, the rollcage has been modified with extra side bars)

Not many Mk1s were made and even fewer were CSes. They are distinctly unique and quite special. Nice choice!
Indeed, the VIN numbers for CS are in the same series than the "standard" MK1. Mine is retrofitted with roll cage, LWFW and leather bucket seats. Awesome!

Only 28 UK RHD MK1 Clubsports.
Makes them rarer than a RHD 996 GT3 RS.
