so, after more research - I found out what the "999 special instructions" are on my C4S

it is: "interior monitoring sensor, cars with colour to choice leather interior"

but what the heck is the "interior monitoring system"

hahaha... Helluva deal right there friends! And, as a courtesy, the kit comes unpainted so that you can make sure it's professional color matched to the perfect shade of Guards Red.

Sorry if you took offense, my comment was all in good fun.

The interior sensor you are referring to is part of the security system, i.e. motion detector that activates when you lock the car. Not sure if all 996s have this feature, but my C4S does as well. FYI, If you don't want to activate the interior sensor when you lock the car, lock it twice in quick succession from the remote.

Such a nice car. Every time I see a C4s in any colour other than black I get extremely jealous.
Love the Aero. Great car you have there.

no worries, thanks for the info, a buddy on the east coast had an old set of 996 manuals - from a 2003, but should be more similar at least than my 997 manuals.

cheers
