Default Mrs. NewToThis is the Best !!!

For my birthday (early January) - Mrs. NewToThis gave me $2500 to spend on my "new to me" 996 Cab C4S.

My '04 C4S is pretty much the base model. That said, here is how I am thinking of spending my gift -

1-new wheels $1500
2-Fister muffler $500
3-Wind deflector $350 (I have a cab)

What do you think?

Car is in very good shape. Prior owner had OCD - and spent "big $$$" 3000 miles before I bought it.

+1 on the Fister Exhaust Mod (for more noise)
+1 on the Wind Deflector (for less noise)

I'd roll with the current wheels for a while. Get to know your current car, then you can really enjoy the change! (OTOH, you can probably sell your old wheels for $750+)

Currently has the TURBO TWIST rims/wheels. IMO, there are really some much better looking wheels available. Like these:

I am getting my current S/Wheel and airbag re-leathered next week. Can you explain "GT3 shift assembly" ...Does it just shorten the shifting span between gears?

sure, really improves shifting, shortens travel by around 27% or so
not exactly rifle bolt precision but a big improvement
if you poke around, there are more options

Forget the gt3 shift assembly and go with the numeric cup shifter.

-1 wind deflector. I never felt the need in my 1999 cab, but I've never seen nor ridden w/one.

$2500? That's it? Mrs NewToThis ain't got nothin on Mrs gnat...

Wanted a 911. Has been known to change her own oil (not in the 996 though). Won't buy a 2 pedal car. And when I started looking for a new SUV said "why don't you look at a Cayenne?"

Now that is a woman!

Me, I'd be a bit more pragmatic and put it away for a rainy day. If you really don't like the wheels/exhaust though, go for it.

I'd skim a few hundred and take this absurdly thoughtful lady to...RPM Steak. (Thematic continuity and a great meal)
