Need new 996 seats with Porsche crest
Maybe someone here can help me. My driver's seat has a big hole in it and needs to be replaced. The dealership tells me Porsche doesn't have any new leather seats in stock, and won't know for a week if the Porsche supplier can even make me a new set of leather seat covers for driver and passenger front seats. (I figure I better replace them both if I want to make sure the leather matches.) Plus, it will cost way too much money, way way too much, so I don't even know if I'm going to make the purchase even if they are available. The seats are savannah beige, stock regular seats, with the Porsche crest in the headrest, non-heated, non-sport seats, with memory, non-comfort or wrinkled look. I prefer the stock look, and since the car came with Porsche crests in the headrests I must have them in the new leathers. The Porsche crests are the real problem for me. Any idea where I might find some such stock seats in good condition? Any idea of any leather people in the U.S. that can replicate the Porsche crest reasonably well?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Brannon

Contact Bob at the following. His work is awesome and very reasonable. I restored an entire 968 using his products. All German and high quality. http://www.classic9leathershop.com/index.php?p=home

i highly suggest finding a good interior guy - they can patch the seat using leather and if the guy is good, he can wear the leather using a technique so it matches the original seat leather - there are several guys that can do this at a reasonable cost - just have to find him

wow that came out nicely - however for a concours car or **** guy, that wouldn't pass because the repair doesn't match the original worn leather.
a professional upholsterer can replace leather section and match the wear.

I second groovezilla's recommendation. I had an '88 560SL that I was putting together as a project and found a guy who stripped off the old leather and made the seats look showroom new. Depending on where the hole is, s/he may only need to repair a small section of leather. If the rest of the seat is fine, that may be a more cost effective option.

Rats, I no longer have the driver's seat leather. I had it replaced, and after the fact found out the upholsterer couldn't get the crest in the headrest. I didn't think it could be patch repaired, so didn't think of saving it. Sadly, the original is gone.
Thank you, all, for your help. Maybe somebody else has a lead on some original seats they've kept after upgrading to GT3's, or something for the track. Or maybe someone else knows someone that can make the crest. Looking highly unlikely. I'm calling Classic 9 Leather Monday.

As a reference, I received a pricing from Classic 9 a couple of years ago, it was at the time $1,350 for the covers of two regular front seats, i.e. not perforated and not sports seats, material only, one seat would be half of the pair price.
My seat cover headrests have the Porsche crest, but I forgot to ask if that's possible from Classic 9, and if so, how much? That said, I can see the logo being an issue since Porsche appears to be very sticky with its logo being used without licensing, especially for commercial purpose.

I found where to get new front seat leather with the Porsche crest in the headrest. Private message me for details. I'll send an update when they come in to let everyone know about the build quality, and quality of crest reproduction. I'm told they should be delivered in about 4 weeks.

Porsche crest looks just like factory original. It's an amazing job! The seat leather fit perfectly and car looks brand new now. I couldn't be happier!
