Question Siphon gas from a 996?

Can you do this or is there some type of anti siphon protection?

Funny but I'd like to gas out of my gas tank prior to it going bad.

Did that a year ago but doesn't treat it forever in the case of a long storage situation.

How much is in there? Is drive/idle until empty an option? If not, you can probably snake some 1/4 inch pvc tubing down there and let it out.

Read a post here once that the 996 has a diaphragm or something of the sort in the filler tube. The post had something to do with NOT being able to get fuel in the car at all. May want to check there, sorry didn't save it. But given your location I'd blast around Mosport a few times. The back straight always emptied my tank!

Access the top of the tank and fuel pump. Disconnect the fuel line and attach a separate hose. Turn the ignition to on but not to start so the fuel pump runs. Catch fuel in a suitable container and dispose of properly.

Or pop off the fuel line in front of the filter, turn ignition on and let it pump into a bucket.

Too bad about the long storage situation. Not good for the tank and fuel pump and hoses in the tank to remain high and dry for long.
