Ok, that makes more sense. Judging by its size and look, that looks like a cheap adaptor with no smarts. Would be good to check the user manual to verify one way or another. Anyway, you won't regret getting a CTEK.

Difficult to see in the picture, but that "cheap adaptor with no smart parts" is axchooley the Porsche-branded charger that so many of us use and swear by and sells for about $70.

Ok ok I take it back Based on the LED comment from another poster, it may very well be very smart. Would be nice to read the user manual to verify.

The tender I use looks like your run-of-the-mill wall wart - just has a couple of extra blinkeys.

The Tender Jr. I love, by the way, has been outlawed by California and Oregon because it's not environmentally friendly enough. Apparently, it will be better for mother Earth if I buy a NEW clump of thermoplastic filled with arsenic-bearing semiconductors and pitch the old one into the landfill. SMH...now I have to hoard 100W light bulbs, grocery bags, AND battery chargers.

They now have the 'Battery Tender Jr., High Effeciency'... Legal in California, $28 on Amazon.

Nice. I'll keep using my "outlaw" chargers until the black helicopter guys show up.

I have Deltran's Battery Tenders on a half-dozen motorcycles, and I have used them for 12+ years.

Motorcycle batteries are more sensitive to bad charging and maintainers than larger automotive batteries. I've never had a problem with a bike battery on a Battery Tender, and I would hold their auto items in the same regard.

Others may be better, but the Deltrans are certainly sufficient, in my experience, and I'm a satisfied customer.

I have CTEK and no problems, my dad has the one pictures, he had to replace the orig battery last year in his 99 Boxster, so I don't see any long term harm using this one. It now sits in my garage with the Interstate the dealer replaced it with, and still on that charger.
