Does clearing any DME code reset Ready indicators?
Quick question, probably somebody knows this off the top of their head.
Some electrical parts were replaced and the battery was disconnected last week. All but the cat efficiency Ready status were set after normal driving. Last weekend in prep for an upcoming smog inspection I ran the BMW OBD-II drive cycle, which worked, and all the Ready tests are set. (This drive cycle is a pain)
Two codes got thrown yesterday, probably because I haven't re-adapted the throttle position sensor. Codes P1517 and P1518 got thrown. They are the only codes currently active in the ECU. I'd like to clear those, do the throttle adaptation, and watch if they come back.
Do *any* code clears require a complete reset of the whole ECU's Ready indicators? Or only clearing specific ones that affect Ready status?

Clearing any code, even clearing codes when none are active, resets the readiness monitors is my observation.
You could just do the throttle adaptation/recalibration and then drive the car. The codes then should go away on their own and probably in short order.
