Mine is a 99, but the engine serial indicates it is a remanufactured.. Haven't been able to track down why though.

Hi Pete,
I have a 99 as well. Mind if I ask why the engine needed replacement??

Thanks,

Ray

2002 C2 103,000 miles here.
Just did clutch/flywheel/rms/aos/plugs/maf/cam tensioners/and everything else that was accessible

Car runs great and faster than ever. No major problems.

was looking for a cheap 996 for D.D. a year or two ago, found a very clean 'local' cab with ~413,000km(or maybe it was 431k?), engine/trans untouched, priced was right and sold quick...unfortunately not to me...

How much? That is excessive mileage.

IIRC, listed at $13k and went quick, beautiful shape from what pictures showed-looked like 40k not 400k km's
