How old are the 996 owners ?
#226
Bought my 924 turbo when I was 19, black ice took it from me two years later. Bought a 928S at 22, sold it about 2 years later when I left the military. Had a looong drought of inferior cars and finally in a 996 at age 45. Had it for a year and don't plan to let it go.

I started the addiction when I was 25 yrs old in 1985. First Porsche was silver/black 928 - Bought it from a Vietnam Vet.
After numerous 356's, 911's I settled for 996 C4S at 57
Theres not a day that goes by that don't I regret selling my 1959 sunroof coupe
Most likely going to jump up to a 2008 C4S either this year or next year

I was about to buy a 96 4S Coupe in 2007 for $32,000. Didn't. Doh.
So, two kids later, I picked up this 99 C2 last month. Better late than never.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I am 44 now.

I brought my first 911 (a 2.2E) at just 21, then at 22 I changed it for a yellow 3.2 Carrera. At 25 I brought a 3.0 Turbo then after a few years I left the marque and went with Jaguars and Mercs.
At 46 I brought a 996.2 3.6 Cab and my wife a 2.7 Boxster.
Now I'm 48, the Boxster has turned into a Range Rover, but the 996 remains and will do for years.
1970 2.2E poor condition with dodgy impact bumper conversion.
1984 3.2 Carrera
'03 2.7 Facelift Boxster & '02 996.2
996.2 I've spent thousands on this including an engine replacement, so I guess it a keeper.

I don't want to suggest that Hurdi is old, but...he swears that he used to work corners when Moses's run group was out. on one especially memorable afternoon, Moses raised his hands and parted the slalom cones so he could drive right down the middle. This would have been cool except that suddenly there were a bunch of Israelites and the Egyptian army all walking through the braking session and across the finish line, which screwed up timing for that entire run group.
Weird.

Purchased my 2002 996 C4 in February for my 34th birthday. Traded a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander for it. Best decision ever! Hoping to have a second much newer p-car in the near future.

Previously had a Mercedes w201 which I gave to my brother. Then at 25 I bought my first Porsche a black 2004 C2 had to wait until I was 25 so I could actually be fully insured for a decent price.

Bought my '66 912 in 2001, just before turning 27.

Fast forward a few years, just got my 996 and in July I'll be 42. The lad in the picture admiring the 996 was born a few months after I got the 912; his older sister is hoping I'll let her drive the 996 someday.
