RAC is Doing My PPI and the Cars Mine!!! I have a ? too.
I want to thank everyone for all the great advice and comments. Hans has agreed to do the PPI tomorrow. I know the car is not new but how many and what problems do you guys view as "deal breakers"? I would assume that any serious engine/trans/drivetrain problem would be a deal breaker but what about other minor issues? Any ideas. The deal is considered done if it passes the PPI tomorrow. (Paid refundable deposit). Sorry to keep bugging you guys but Im pretty excited that this is the one. Much more so than the last one I looked at.
Here is the car:

2nd key is going to cost you ~$300-350, Ask them for a 2nd key. My 2003 C2 has a spare with tools mounted in a molded insert. Don't the C4s come with a spare? Is it under the carpet? Make sure the tool kit is included.

Hope you know everything there is to know about this model and just how it is supposed to function. PPI can miss things out. Small things overlooked. There are so many things on these cars that even a PPI can miss. Mine (after a dealer ppi) inside light, lights at bottom of door, petrol door not locking, missing tool kit (which was replaced by dealer). Anyway good luck..

^^Excellent point^^
It's the little stuff (assuming there's no "big" stuff)...
Maybe a Dallas area rennlister can check it out for you...

From my own experience I can tell you that the PPI from RAC will be very thorough and you'll get a report with all the items they checked, including a lot of little stuff. I've bought several cars, and I always have them check it out first. No inspection ever guarantees perfection, but you'll at least know what you're getting by the end of the day. It's $300 well spent.
BTW - I'd have them give you written estimates of everything it would take to bring all services up to date and make the car perfect, then use the estimate as your final price bargaining chip.

Thanks for the tips about RAC. I chose them because of you guys advice. Hans should have the car today for the PPI. I have every confidence in RAC finding and documenting any problem(s). They actually have done many PPI's for Texas Import Sales and had good things to say about the Dealer, so I hope the car is as good as it looks.

Dealer called today and said they have been very busy but the car would be at RAC this afternoon. Finance, etc. is all prearranged, so Im only waiting for the word from Hans. The rate is only 2.9 which isnt bad for a 9 year old car. If all is OK with RAC, the car is ready to pickup Friday but I cant drive up to Dallas until Sat. I cant take much more suspense, as I cant focus at work and I check my email constantly for word from Hans. He sent me the blank forms they use and it looks very thorough. They are checking the paint and engine codes as well. I hope yu all were not as stressed as I am about the "first Porsche". I even became a paying member of Rennlist for the good karma. If you check the car listing it says "Pending". Hah hah thats me! Once again, thanks to you all. Also the dealer says they are losing money on this deal but I've heard that before.
