Default anyone actually use 93 octane gas?

I can't find it anywhere. Best I can do is 92. Does this really matter that much?

I can only find 91 so if I could locate 92 I would go with it and definitely go with 93 it is was around also. Now I would want to stick to a reputable brand also, I like Union 76, then Chevron.

Great thing about Florida is that we have 93 everywhere.

boooo

You would think we would here in California too with all of the refineries around, especially where I live, but we don't. But if anyone in the S.F. bay area knows of a station with 93 let me know

In California, the best way to get 93 is to mix 3:1 of 91 and 100 gas. This is what I do. There is a Union 76 on Almaden Expressway in San Jose that sells 100 gas.

I only use 93. I never have any trouble finding it in the midwest.

California prohibits the sale of higher than 91 octane for large production. You can purchase 100 in very rare locations.

In the San Jose, CA area it's the 76 at Almaden Expressway and Foxworthy.

.....Or....go buy five gallons of Toluene at Sherwin Williams and add a gallon to a tank...there's a forumula for adding X amount to bump up the octane. I run a bit Toluene in every tank of gas in my 930 to keep it from detonating when it gets hot around here.

Remember though...it's highly volatile so watch how and where you store it. I think straight toluene is 114 octane. Here's an interesting article on the subject that I found very informative and useful: http://www.elektro.com/~audi/audi/toluene.html.

My apologies in advance if it's a reprint from a previous post somewhere.

Default STREET BLAZE 100...

Check out Street Blaze, street legal fuel from *VP Racing Fuels in San Antonio, official fuel supplier of the ALMS, btw:

"Oxygenated with ethanol, this CARB-legal fuel is specifically engineered for high-performance street cars including sport compacts, muscle cars, street rods and more. It's environmentally friendly and street legal throughout the U.S. In applications with anything from 4- to 12-cyclinders or engines equipped with a turbocharger, supercharger or nitrous oxide system (NOS), StreetBlaze 100 will generate optimum power and performance. In turbocharged or supercharged applications, it allows an increase in boost without fear of detonation. NOS users can also leverage their higher octane ratings to step up to a more powerful nitrous oxide system. Dyno tests with a turbocharged application proved StreetBlaze100 generates up to 14% more horsepower compared to premium grade 91 octane unleaded gasoline. Designed for use in cast-iron head engines with CRs up to 13:1 and aluminum head engines up to 14:1. Works well on the latest generation of electronically-controlled turbo engines. Contains no metal compounds and won't harm catalytic converters or oxygen sensors."

• Color: Orange
• Oxygenated: Yes
• Motor Octane: 96
• R+M/2: 100
• Specific Gravity: .746 at 60° F

They even ship it to you...
Oh, yes, I use 93 Octane... so as not to hijack the thread!

You can run 91 and the car will adjust accordingly. You will lose some power but nothing you will feel significantly.
