Default 18inch BBS LM

Hi guys! I was able to have BBS japan make me a set of 18X8.5 and 18x11 ET 56.

Just wanted to get your opinions on which color would go best with a polar silver.

^+1 the ones on the right are the classic ones, with the darker centres, the spoke design is less visible. You'll need spacers for the rear with those offsets (I believe that's all they make), some people have reverse mounted the centres to improve the offsets so you don't need spacers on wide body cars. Reverse mounting can make them a little harder to balance.

Basal,

Really? BBS said it was custom made for 993TT wide body? What kind of spacer would i need?

Also, what tire size would you recommend?

thank you!

Simon

Polar Silver car.. I vote the right. Grays are for darker color cars.

Btw, you don't need spacers. Just reverse mount the rear centers for proper offset to WB specs.

What safety concerns would there be?

Folks have been reverse mounting LMs for a long time now.

If you have the factory reverse mount it, then it is as fresh as it comes.

Spacers add weight and the "safety" of your car now sits on the spacer bolts instead of bolts connected to the hub.

^ as far as I know, the BBS won't reverse mount as that was not how the wheels were designed (and they don't indorse reverse mounting). On a street car propper bbs spacers are probably best and although I'm the first guy to want weight loss, the extra weight for the spacers won't make a performance difference. The wide body spacer is about 23ish mm - to give offset of 33mm. They bolt on to the hub using stock studs and the spacers have studs on them. BTW I did have mine reverse mounted for a bit but mounted them back normally as I couldn't get them balanced as well as wanted and caused some vibration at high speed. No problem once mounted normally again...

Hi GUys,

Pictures to follow as i am waiting for tires but i put it on my car and it was a perfect fit without any spacers needed.

This was really custom made for 993TT so it was a direct fit. Will upload pics as soon as i get tires as it was hard to find the size locally in Manila.

Going with 235/40/18 and 295/40/18/

Thank you.

u shd check with rudy/opo - he is very familiar with reverse mounting multi piece bbs on his numerous 993 cars... in terms of color i would go with middle... straight silver wheels on a polar silver car comes out too whitewashed in my opinion... of course that is a matter of personal taste

spacers done properly are just fine...

i won't comment on the pros/cons of reverse mounting rims and centers on wheels other than to say you need to also understand in detail how the wheels are designed and where the stresses are on the various components of a multi-piece wheel to truly understand whether there is a potential safety issue under hard use

Hopefully you meant 235/40-18 & 295/30-18, and not "295/40-18"

@Overboost, Yes correct, 235/40/18 Front and 295/30/18 Rear. Would this be the correct tire size?
