Have values on any Porsche model ever fallen drastically after they began their rise? Did 356's? Early 911's? All of these now sell for well beyond what their original purchase price was. The 993TT's represent the best and last of the air cooled cars, they are also arguably the most beautiful. As such they have the key ingredients to become a permanent classic of the marque. Selling for at or above their original asking price is to be expected and is not outlandish by any means. There are two ways to get burned . Yes it's always possible that something will happen to drive prices down but you can also get burned by waiting too long. Back in '86 I could have purchased a '73RS for $28K. I opted for a new 944 Turbo instead. Enough said.

993Ts and 73RSs can drive our imagination forever because they are truly historically significant, but prices went insane with almost anything Porsche. I don't think prices can hold this high for a model with disregard to significance (not the case for a 993T or 73RS). Having said that, kilodawg, I feel your pain on that 73RS!! And I agree, we will never have that opportunity again.

Couple years ago in Naples Italy, an old men died and his 40 years old,17.500 miles like new, loved care,only sunny sunday drove car 911 2,2 S Targa was going to his nephew who as a smart guy sold it for double the market price, whoppy 40k €,
after a while the next owner sold it for 50k€ and another smart guy sold it for 75k € to a german dealer who sold it for 117.000 €
this happens just in 2-3 years
how much will pay the next smart guy?

I just bought a Ferrari F355 so I have something else to play with.

I think I'm going to curb use of my 993TT (I am the original owner) until we see where things shake out.
