Good Chicago area mechanic for my 993
I am wondering who I could rely on to service my 96 993? I am actually in Valpo In but anywhere in the Chicago area would be great. Thanks

On air cooled engines, it is hard to beat Sol Snyderman, who owns Perfect Power Porsche. I used Midwest Eurosport once, and though they were pleasant to deal with, they were not able to solve my issue. Sol
Snyderman did. Perfect Power is in Buffalo Grove. Sol is not cheap, but he knows our cars like few others.....and he is honest. Does quality work. You can eat off the floors in his shop.

Probably a good idea for the original poster to contact both shops. Both have good reputations and the deciding factor may be in the details...

I used the shop that is in the western suburbs. As I pointed out, they were cordial and understanding. However, at the end of the day, the bill was $250 and the findings were that I should just put miles on the car. Not very enlightening or encouraging. I could have put 100,000 miles on the car and still would have been suffering the stalling issue.
