What year is your car?
Why use the key?
Delay ma be part of the delay sequence used to program the key fobs when you do not have a working fob. The sequence involves locking and unlocking the car that starts a sequence with a time out involved.
May also be a delay associated with the ignition immobilizer.
Probably normal if it does it consistently.
Does everything else work properly?

It was 1996 car, she don't come with FOB key. Just normal key. Lock and unlock by manual.

Previous when i use the key to lock the car, The light on door will flashing immdly.

Except recently i notice the door light flashing delay when i lock the door. But everything working as usual. Any thought ?

I have noticed variability in the door flashing. The only things I can think of is that the battery voltage is a little low or the device that controls flashing uses an electrolitic capacitor to trigger the flash and it has dried out a little

Peter,
It seems that everything works as it should. I wouldn't labor over it. If you had double flashing door top lights, that would be a different story.
If it ain't broke...

Ive had a double flash, for 2 seasons. Battery voltage within range, charging all good too. Car is usually on a maintenance charger when not DD'ing.

Bulbs all good in frunk, interior, and engine bay. Open either door, one chime...then nothing.

Ideas?

Does your key fob, drive block and alarm work properly?

What about glovebox light? Also door, frunk, clutch, and engine bay micro switches?

I had this problem and tracked it down to the radio alarm ground wire.

I read about it in this thread:
https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...is-locked.html

In Post #10 STLPCA describes the issue and fix.

I have the original radio and there was a piece of tape or paper that had
dried up and disappeared. As a result I had the double flash. I put a small
piece of electrical tape where the old tape was and the problem was solved.
