I took the crank into a local machine shop for polish and sizing
The report was all within spic, then i doubled checked the journal sizes
Steve Weiner reconditioned:
Heads/Valves
Cylinders
Rod bearings
Rocker bearings
New hydraulic valves
Cleaned the valve housings
polished and checked the cams
New head studs 993TT

removing the lever
showing myself the shims so i don't forget, i ended up adding 2 more of these shims to tighten up the play. These i special order from Porsche
Clamping the unit down then holding back the spring to reload

I did a lot of looking to see what other chaps did to clean and check the piston oil squirters, I found some good tips in the Pelican forum, i used this same technic on mine , worked great, using the rubber hose to block all air leaks while pushing compressed air through the crankshaft side
the other half of the case is a lot easier...less air to escape
i had 4 that where gunked up, using DW40, Liquid Wrench and brake cleaner AND a few days of soaking they came to life
heres a short video clip

Getting down to final cleaning of the crankcase i removed all the oil galley plugs
trying different methods that other guys used, the best way mine came out was to drill a hole then work it out with a screw driver
when i try threading it and wrenching it out is just gave way
then i took it to a local machine shop, they machined brass plugs and gave it a good wash
It turned out good
