Hi folks --- what's the latest on exhaust tip options for NB 993s circa August 2015?
The junk aftermarket exhaust tips my car came with are --- junk. The flange is cut at this weird angle and no amount of fiddling will get the clamps to clamp them on securely. I'm going to bin them.
In an ideal world, I'd like the "angle slash cut" exhaust tips with "straight, not rolled lips." In other words, I'd like the old FDM ones --- that's right --- the ones that are not made anymore ---- so I guess that rules that out ---

Given that these are no longer available, what are the best options these days?
Porsche Narrow Body Wide Oval - I am to understand these are upwards of $500 (absurd). Anyone have a part number?
The eBay ad is really strange. It claims it comes at a set of four, but if you look at it closely it lists 3 diff dimensions for a set of four? Let's figure this out with the seller and see what he/she says. At some point I might just go for the safe route and get the porsche pieces which are the following for the NB - 993 111 981 00 and 993 111 982 00, even though they are an absurd price.

Did I miss out on the custom polarized LCD Becker screens? Are they still available? My head unit is a TrafficPro...
To answer this question ---- if you have had your C(D)R-220 LCD screen modified to be viewable off-axis in a 993 by Stefan @ SW Stereo, it may work well but be a little dim in some circumstances. You can have Jim Corenman modify the screen to be brighter than SW Stereo's modification. Jim can be found on the 928 boards - https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...at-a-time.html
SW Stereo is a 9 (pretty good already!). Jim is a 10 (OCD folks unite!)
There was another thread about these tips and people that bought them seemed generally satisfied.

Some people got too many left tips and no right tips. Some people got six tips instead of 4. Some people said dealing with these guys are like herding cats, and some other guys gave up trying to deal with them.
From the thread, it appears these are 2mm larger than wide ovals.
At the same time,
+ Veersburg installed them on his car, liked them, but said that the quality of the extra pair that he has is not good enough where he would want to sell them for $.
+ Callipygian 911 installed them and liked them.

I have the eBay ones. First ordered them and got two left ones. Just two.
Than asked them to resent them and explained I needed one left and on right one. And also received that.
It was hard to explain to them that a 993 has two, just two exhaust tips not four or six
From the four in total i received some were quite good others not so much. I had to modify the fitment to the exhaust a bit to get the clamp on.
Painted the insides flat black and they look pretty good!
But if I locate a set of genuine big ovals i'd buy them

I have now updated the advert to show what you should receive.
It is the 2 muffler tips rather than the 4.

I'll note that the advertisement is now changed to reflect having two muffler tips, and the price is currently GBP79 + GBP80 for international shipping.

Ahhh, what a sight - that glorious shape for the butt and those perfect exhaust tips!!! I makes me sick remembering that I almost threw them away not knowing what they were.

I bought a brand new set for my RB TT from the dealer and they cost $650
My car came with some aftermarket brand , before and after
I think the WB just makes the car look much meaner from the rear .
I noticed that the eBay seller has now updated the auction to be two tips only. While that is all that our cars need it is off putting that they are asking the exact same price and shipping for half the amount of product. I will lay in wait until I can get a set from another source.
