Default No interior illumination

I have no interior illumination function, or door adjar alarm, or key on ignition alarm. To be honest Iam worried about fixing it. My car is an october of 94 build. My concern is, of course, the immobilizer system. I do not have any remotes and have nomidea of my car is even equipped with that system. My concern is getting the interior illumination to work and then "wake up" the immobilizer and cause more problems than it is worth. Any thought on a direction on this?
Thanks
Curt

I don't believe your car is immobilizer equipped in 1994.

Did you take a look at your fuse chart to see if these functions are on the same circuit? It could be as simple as a blown fuse.

Check your drivers side door pin switch, if it sticks in, or the brown wire comes off the back you will experience the issues you described

I will look into this, thank you. If it is a blown fuse dont know if the (possible?) immobilizer is on the same circuit. I do have a good wiring diagram so I will look there as well. Didnt think of the pin switch. Noticed yesterday that pass rubber cover is torn pretty good. I know the cover will not cause it, just funny to think I was just looking at it yesterday though.

If you have just a plain key with no remote or "switchblade", you don't have an immobilizer, just what's known as "Drive Block".

Fuse 11 but you probably know that already.

No Immobilizer though as stated on model year build

Door lock control unit could be at fault, located under the passenger seat, inbd side, maybe fellow local RL could swap it out to troubleshoot.

I just replaced my alarm control unit (under the passenger seat) in order to restore my power locks. I now, besides functioning power locks, have interior lights, door ajar chime, etc. The ACU controls all these functions apparently. Check the fuse in the side of your ACU. If it is good, and there is power to it, then the ACU may be faulty. I found a used one on eBay for $250 vs $550 for a new one on Amazon.

True that, but I believe its known as the ACU as opposed to the DLCU

October of 94 build
= early 95 build; = no immobilizer on US cars.

More than likely, Ken (who may no longer be in Irvine) hit the nail on the head!

Yeah, I'm no longer in Irvine. You apparently can't easily change your name on these forums.
The ACU fix was very easy - plugged in the replacement unit and everything immediately came to life again!

Thanks for the clarification, my mind was focused on just one thing.

I agree, could be either door or possibly one of the switches on the dome lights.

Just to add to the letters mix, in the uk porsche parts departments refer to it as the CCU (comfort control unit)

Yes, the ACU is the alarm control unit in the box under the passenger seat.
The CCU is the climate/comfort control unit in the box in the dash behind the climate control ***** and sliders.
