Ground strap on engine (picture wanted)
Looking for a picture that shows the location of the (engine) ground strap.I am looking for thi pictures since I want to check if it is there..
I had some problems with the charging voltage on my 993, was only 12,9 Volts. So I had the alternator rebuilt but that dit not make a change, so I went back to shop that did the rebuild-> they measured a voltage loss between the engine and the negative battery terminal. For the moment the problem is solved by adding an extra wire between the alternator/fan housing and the AC compressor.
Thank you in advance!

The casing of the alternator is also grounded to the engine, but since the engine/transmission is rubber mounted, it needs that ground strap from the starter mounting bolt to the chassis as shown in the pic above.
But there is no harm in making and installing an extra near-zero ohms ground strap for the alternator. I don't trust wire crimps where the elements can get to them.
While you are in there * Alternator Cable thread for an older 911.
