Stay safe. Glad to hear that you and your son are fine. Keep the car. The parts are worth a lot of money. Don't sell it cheap to the ebay vultures. Part it out yourself if you must.

Wow - sorry to hear but as everyone is saying, glad you and son are okay. Hope you're back on the road soon.
Perhaps in a Camry? (oops, sorry...too soon for the Camry joke?)

Sorry to hear--haven't all of us been there Porsche or "regular" car, street or track?
Hey, if you're interested in making one out of two in Speed Yellow that only needs a light quarter panel repair let me know!

Really really glad everyone is safe so its just money and ego bruised! This can happen really quickly, I smacked up my 993 years ago in very similar conditions (wet, on throttle, etc) so I understand totally.
Your car was a sweet example and I am sure you are thinking of the next one already - interesting questions regarding awd and insurance, hope you are well covered!
Cheers,
Mike

As others have said, sorry to hear about the accident, but glad to hear you and your son were okay. Also nice to hear that a 20 year old sports car can do it's job of protecting the occupants!

Regarding insurance, I'll post something back here once I have sorted through all of that mess. The car was insured as a daily driver (which is what I used it as) nothing special there. I have never wanted to add up all of my reciepts, but I have them all and I may need to do that.
Thanks all for the well wishes. I am taking it all better than I should

Glad you and your son are ok, even though you're upset over the 993 now there will always be more cars.

Get ready for some fun with the insurance company. I would just go ahead and get a professional appraiser at the get-go. My brother recently went through this with a 964 and the first offer from the insurance co was terribly low. With a lot of patience, work, and the help of an appraiser, he got 2.5 times the initial offer.
PM me if you want to connect with my brother.

Glad to hear you and your son weren't injured, that's what counts.
I know you've owned that car a LONG time and have a lot of time invested in it so I'm sure it's sad to see it go.
As others have asked, I'm pretty sure it was a C2.
