993 Deal of the Decade?

About a year and a half before I bought my car a local (upscale city) guy was selling 1996tt for $55k firm, mileage was +/- 95k from memory, midnight blue/grey, CL ad had lots of pics and good description - good driver condition - with local phone number listed. Ad was up for about 2 weeks but my budget was $40k max...couldn't swing it. I thought it was the deal of the century but I didn't have the funds. No doubt it was legit in my opinion. About mid 2011.

I got my prior TT in 2011. Sunroof/rear wiper delete, factory hardbacks 56k on the clock for 52.5 (car fax had a reported accident)... I really wish that car didn't catch fire! I knew I got a deal then, but today, that's a 80-90k car easy.

when I was looking in early 2010, low mile WB's, 40-50K miles were likewise priced. Higher mile WB's were in the mid to low $30K range. I remember plenty of TT's in the mid 50's to 60+.
Today's values simply shock me, I'm ashamed to admit that I do indeed treat my dirty carfax, lotta paintwork, 100K+ mile 4S....differently than I used to.
