What does one do with a brand new stolen car these days? With the amount of dealer only service items, especially on high end cars, it seems that the only thing to do is chop them up or send them to some lawless foreign land.

It is interesting that at a different marque local dealership here had the same key security issue. The owner's manuals with the 2nd set of keys are kept in a locked filing cabinet that could be easily jimmied opened.

They're not that good. One of them was caught last night driving one of the stolen cars and he rolled over and gave up the location of at least some of them. I think they got 5 back.

I like this quote from the dealer's owner: "I wasn't really that upset about them taking the cars as much as I was about them not paying for them," Gossett said. "If they're going to take them at least give us the money for them."
If you're going to steal the car, at least pay for it...

They're probably already in shipping containers headed for Saudi Arabia, Qatar or UAE.
beside that's nearly impossible to avoid customs eagle eyes; in these countries you can mostly threw away you key coz the surveillance would identify a stolen car within minutes, leading the cops exactly in the direction of the actual position (even without GPS tracking).
Simple UAE and Qatar don't have a market for that cars coz its mostly impossible to drive them here.
Saudi is bigger, but surveilance is even tighter ...
Of course sometime somebody tries but it ends normally here ...

From the news report: Investigators believe the cars were scheduled to be shipped out of the country.
From The Telegraph in Britain: The bad news for owners of higher-end cars is that many, once stolen, leave....to feed ...an “insatiable appetite” for vehicles in Africa, with other popular destinations, say experts, including Cyprus, Dubai and the Far East, Spain, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Pakistan.
Perhaps I should not have cited specific countries, but the concept is accurate.
