Just how many 993 speedster conversions out there?
It's all about being there at the right place, right moment.
Came across this, fell in love, couldn't not resist
It's in desperate need of split grill!!!
BTW, just how many speedsters conversions out there?

Marc-André-- Nice find; thanks for sharing
Not enough ^^
If you haven't seen it, check out the "Speedster type 993 photo thread" for an idea.
Almost sounds like you've given it a new home...
Since you have photos in 2 locations -- any chance the last were taken in your driveway?
You asked about 993s; this Speedster appears an earlier 911 with newer bodywork.
Hungry for more photos - sides, interior, rear, etc.

Looking good Marc-Andre
As Jager has noted - the wiper positions suggest that this a pre 993 car updated. Do you know much about the history & build?
As for numbers if I recall correctly RL'er AMG-Fan posted up a list on his website - not so many for sure; one on the road in the UK at the moment, and another in build at 9M.

Hi,
Yes, car is now 'secured' in my driveway! Its based on a 98 993 that was originaly white. Rear fenders are metal, leather dash. I'll post more pics of the speedster later. Found a 993 'registry' where I counted 31 of them.
I'd need help with a step by step operation of the manual top. The PO had it for the last six years and sold it because the top operation was to complicated for him, so no real knowledge transfer here
Cheers!

If the 10th digit of the VIN is not an S, T, V, or a W (for MY 1995 through 1998) then it's not a 993. Highly doubtful it is with the wiper locations though...
Can you please post some photos of the sides, rear end, and interior? It looks like a very nice conversion!

Thanks curve lover, it did help a bit.
Got stuck in my fist downpoor getting back from work. I did get the top up before leaving. Took me 10 minutes trying different approches. Ok dark car in a dark interior garage didn't help
Here is how i figure it:
Unlatch rear hump
Bring hump to the back.
Pull top up
Fold rear window back to the front, over the top.
Bring rear hump forward.
Bring back the rear portion of the top over the hump & snap rear window channel on the back of hump.
fasten the rear part on the hump with the snaps.
latch the top on the windshield.
latch the hump.
About the front cowl now. This speedster was built from a salvage car. It was bought in florida new in 98 and rolled over in 99. Guessing that they took parts off a salvage speedster, took the cowl and windshield & other bits. From reading the carfax, this speedster conversion must of been done in 2001. It then got to Quebec in 2004. It barely moved since. Car has 33xxx miles. It's an all steel body.
I'll get it back outside tomorrow if it stops raining and take pics!

Glad RLer's GrahamPeterM's video helped!
Graham deserves an Oscar
Pics of your top, too, please:
To help you most -- need to know if it's OEM from an '89 or '94 Speedster.
I bet you'll LUV this as soon as you can obtain it ... if you have a '94 top (there's a similar '89 version, too):
Porsche 911 Speedster Supplement to Driver's Manual, part #WKD 964 120 94.
Used one currently on eBay.ie: "Porsche 911 Speedster 1993 UK Market Owners Handbook Supplement" by 'brochurequestuk.' Item #171145920855. 'Buy it now' price £80.00.
Also advertised for sale on these sites:
- AutoAtlanta.com's "APPENDI911 GWKD96412094 - Genuine Porsche," listed at $1.00.
- WorldImpex.com's SKU # 2379051 "PORSCHE® APPENDI911."
They list it as available & priced at $0.05, typically shipping within 3 days.

Sounds like you have the 1989 top ^^
...unless you see 1994 rubberized clips like these (from the "Rennlist/ PCA member's 993 SPEEDSTER" thread):

If you do have a '94 top & LUV the glove-box size supplement, you'll REALLY dig the 11.5" x 8" mechanic's brochure, "Porsche Service Information Technik '94 911 Speedster" (part # WKD 498 421).
In addition to adding photographs to the supplement's drawings, Porsche expands its verbiage.
Here's the caption of their hook photo:
The folding top fabric is attached to the edge of the rear cover by two hooks on either side. These hooks are plastic-coated so as to protect the paintwork.
If it helps you or others: worldImpex.com lists SKU #2377487, "PORSCHE® 911 SPEEDSTER INTROB" as available for $9.10 & should ship in 3 days.
From the German text version:
In addition to adding photographs to the supplement's drawings, Porsche expands its verbiage.
