Default Fog Light Bulb Replacement Question

Is this the correct fog light to replace the OEM units? (Aren't all H3s the same?)
[URL="http://www.amazon.com/HELLA-H83135111-Replacement-Floodlamp-Search/dp/B0002M9UTS/ref=sr_1_13?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1349965689&sr=1-13&keywords=bulb+fog+light+porsche[/URL]

(Part # hella H83135111 12V 100W Halogen)

Do I want the 100w or the 55w version?

What replacement would be better to color match the LEDs I recently put in from Tore's website?

Thanks!! Brian

I recently upgraded my headlights to an HID kit from DDM tuning, as well as LED running lights. To match my fogs better, I went with silverstar H3's. They are not a perfect match but much better than before. You might also need to address the fog housings if they have yellowed. I completely dismantled the fog housings and painted the plastic silver to look better thru the glass.

I went with 55w and it seems sufficient. I would be worried about the heat the 100w put off.

Thanks. I was wondering the same thing. There is some blackening of the inside Hella housing from heat buildup but I'm not sure of the wattage on those bulbs.

The Sylvania site has a tool to query what bulbs are made for every car.. for the 993 they have the following - http://www.sylvania.com/en-us/applic...el=273&make=76

id stick with the 55w so you don't melt everything

To get the fogs and/or running lights to match your HIDs is quite challenging.

Personally I find there are too many different colors in the front end (if your running euro clears) - HIDs, amber signals, running lights + fogs (if you choose to run).

I've chosen to remove the running lights. My fogs are really only used as my DRL (required in Canada).

I'd suggest going with an HID upgrade for the fogs. I got a 35w 4500K set from DDM-same set up for low beams, H3 fogs, H1 low beams. The increased output from the fogs is staggering. They were $50 a kit delivered last year.

Good luck

You purchased 35W low beams and 35W fogs?
