Folks who write about disabling the rear spoiler warning light say, "Just unplug the harness that connects to the retractable tail control module underneath the dash board..."

Two question:

1. Will disconnecting that relay disable the rear spoiler?
2. Exactly where is that relay located?

Mine's a right hand drive, the control module is positioned on the passenger side under neath the dash high up in the footwell to the left (not behind the dash). Just pull the carpets back and you should see a longish box with a large electical connection clipped on to the side.

I found this out as once after service by the main dealer the spoiler stopped raising and the car was getting too hot. On locating the control box I noticed that the electrical connection was partially unplugged. I pushed it home and everything worked fine after that.

Same location on a left hand drive, just above your toes on the passenger side. Disconnecting it will disable the spoiler.
