All the interesting dialogue aside, I think the initial question centers upon the driving characteristics imparted by the inner tie rod end.
If one overlooks the shadetree DIY approach, I modified my inner tie rods to be solid for use on a street car . Enough detail to bore one can be found in anatomy of a tie rod or evo tie rod clone.
I quite enjoy the sharper steering for my street application - neither harshness increase nor kickback noted ..... only more precise steering - and that is at ~ROW Sport -10mm height ( so the tie rod angles are still within the "horizontal" limits).

As all inner tie rod ends appear interchangable, the field is open to do what one wishes. In the first link, poster 'Essexmetal' made what I consider an excellent 'factory job' of welding up a solid inner ... but the pinned version has not yielded a 0.001" yet either.

Bumping this thread. I'm about to order som stuff but I can't find the part number for the evo tie rods?

The RS tie rods are 993.347.031.81 but does anyone know the part number for the motorsport monoball evo tie rods?

TIA

I believe that it is
993.347.031.80
at least that is the part listed for both RSR and GT2Evo

Feel is greatly enhance w/ the monoball link RS tierods as used on the RSR and Gt2Evo and Cup, a good alignment and wider front wheels also improve this greatly

Just to make sure I am (no longer) confused - there is only one version of the uprights aside from the factory standard one, but two versions of the tie-rods aside from the standard ones. The EVO/GT2 uprights will work with both (a) the RS tie-rods (which are stiffer the standard but still have some play b/c of the rubber) and will also work with (b) the GT2/RSR tie-rods (which are mono-***** and have no flex).

So is this right or am I still confused?

TIA

Correct
here are the 2 different 993 front wheel carriers, long arm on the left is stock, short arm on the right was used on RS, RSR, GT2

here are the different tie rods top is stock w/ the bigger bend, bottom is the RSR GT2Evo monoball version

top is stock bottom is RS & RS/CS, both have rubber the RS is just stiffer

you can also use the RS outer stock inner and RS wheel carrier

I need a set of RS/GT2 outers. If someone is sitting on some spares let me know via PM.

Dumb question but there's any reference value (height from certain spot/part underneat of the car to the ground) to know you need these parts? My RoW Carrera is lowered and perhaps I could benefit from these parts as I track it eventually.

Thanks

Its a curve, so there is not a single point where it goes from "good" to "bad"...

I think the common consensus it once you get much below M030 (144mm) you could probably consider them... The factory drew the line at RS (124mm), so that's probably where I would make the switch as well.

Diego, there's the outer most subframe bolt head, to measure the front, and the subframe casting at rear, to get that height. What you want, is the tie-rod to sit pretty much parallel with control arm. Hope this helps.
