Coolest Riviera blue 993 in existence
Ok, I like it at least. A lot. A stupid amount of lot.
Anybody know this car? A buddy of mine saw this car on his way back from the 356 event in Tahoe the past weekend. He supposedly ran up to the car as the guy was driving away to talk to him and take pictures (my buddy writes for sports car market and sometimes excellence). The picture is of the door panel of a model year 1993 (yes, not a typo) US registered 993 with riviera blue over deviating (AND factory) HOUNDSTOOTH interior. Supposedly a PCNA show car in 1994 at Lake Placid. Anybody know the owner because this may be my dream car.

Very cool... houndstooth in a Rivi Blue 993. I agree, it makes me feel kinda funny too. In a good way
Dp you have other pics? Please?
I wonder what the seats look like?

No, this was the only picture my friend could snap. I think it is a marble gray / black interior. Marble gray seats and carpet. Black dash.
I should google it - haven't had time.

that could be the sweetest interior ever(along with that customer tan leather one earlier) or it could be an instant headache and the most obnoxious interior ever.....what if all the carpets are houndstooth too, not sure I could concentrate?

So, this is sort of off-topic, but has anyone here taken a plain-jane 993 (egads, did I say that) and repainted/re-interiored to create something new? Like a Guards Red conversion to FLY Yellow with full leather or something like that?

Reddy, search "fall project". Have you seen that one?
I know several people who have re-interiored their car. An expensive pain in the butt, but very very doable.

Yeah, I've seen Rhino's project and it rocks. Most of the painting I've seen is repaint the same color and was curious if anyone had turned something common into something uncommon.

I've thought about trying to find a nephrite green interior for my car but finding a nephrite green interior is pretty damn tough. Might wait until euro / dollar value reverses and import from germany.

Sorry for the OT but Mike the Nephrite interiors here in Europe are really tough to resell. If you find a car in the US with this sort of interior you could probably low-ball them because of the difficulty to resell.. Swapping interiors is really not as difficult as you would think at first glance. Carpet is the worst part to change. But then again, if it's light, I think you could surflex the carpet to black instead of ripping it out..

Ginger wears houndstooth centers in her Boxster red int. I had these softback sports recovered very cheaply in vinyl to see if I liked the combo. I'll likely have them redone in leather at a better shop in future. I do like the look on the door panels above.
