Default OT:Gulf Racing colours

This kind of gives away the colour scheme of my new garage , but does anyone know the colours used in the scheme (or as close as possible) so that I can source the correct paint? Close up pics or anything like that would be most helpful.

I'm thinking light blue walls with orange horizontal stripe about 1/2 way down, but doesn't the stripe have an outline stripe/border - am I making any sense??

TIA

Surj,
I also have the idea of having my garage painted in Gulf colours. Well at least the racing ones. 911 & Porsche WOrld magazine talk about it in the december issue. Very nice article by the way.
They say the blue is much lighter on the racing cars then was the real Gulf one.
The ref for the racing colours are Pantone 291C(blue) and 165C(orange).
I'm still looking for a translation in RAL...

Cheers

See either Le mans the movie or get the "Excellence was expected" series
of books they have to get the scheme and use colors close enough for govt work

Great idea though I am gonna use it, If either JP or Surj come to Ridgecrest and wanna make
me change it for copying I will do it.

Thx guys.
The Blue and the Orange I got, but whats the orange border colour?

hey OG, forgive my ignorance, but where is Ridgecrest??
If its driveable from the Bay Area or LA (where I've been known to loiter on occassion!) then I'll be round to check on your colours too!!

Toga - thx for the 911 &PW heads up, I'll grab a copy as I was in the US and missed it at the time...

Surj
are you talking about the border between orange and blue? Then for me it's black.

Ridgecrest... try with this US map

OG in 2001 I drove south on the 395 then in Pearsonville we took the small mountain road to proceed west to springville and Sequoia NP. We were not far from each other! Do you some time drive your TT on that small road? I was with a BLazer ( not funny) dreaming of my 4S!

Damn! I'm doing the same thing also!

I'll probably also paint the GULF logo on over the horizontal stripe on one wall.

I have some big posters of 917s to go with the paint.

Well, it is a great color combo so it's no wonder lot of people are doing it.

UPDATE:

Garage is being painted - what do you think??
The paint match is pretty good, but the orange is being painted bigger (twice the size it is now and black border should be done tomorrow too (cant wait!!).

Not long now...nice to have the cars back, shame I cant drive one of them yet!

When I saw Togas pics... The first one made me LOL, then reality struck, OUGH. Then I thought OMG Cutter/Agro was back again. ( I hope John does'nt see this comment. Just teasing)
Great colors. Nice looking garage. I didn't know they came that large in the UK.
