According to the 993FAQ there were some 993s in uncommon colors. Does anyone have pics of any of these colors? Post here or send hi-res to me privately. Were some of these colors model year specific? Thanks.

i talked to a fellow at Fontana that had an interesting car.
he saw me scratching my head, trying to figure out what shade of blue it was....not quite zenith blue, not iris blue??
he introduced himself and said the color was meridian blue.
i am not sure if that was a color commonly available, or if it was "color to sample".
i believe it was a '98.

Wow, the Meridian Blue is absolutely stunning. Makes my Polar Silver look so average.

There is no such thing as a homely 993. I love them all. I have seen Vesuvio and a color called "Turkish", also very rare colors. I don't know the paint codes. I do, however, have a 1996 Porsche "Colors" catalog. It lists the following:
Standard: A1 black, G1 guards red, J1 blue turquise, P5 grand prix white, X4 speed yellow.
Metallic: A8 polar silver, D3 iris blue, F8 midnight blue, H8 arena red, K1 turquoise, K6 aventura green, Z8 black (metallic).
So where are the other colors? What happened to arctic silver, for example? I duuno... I only have the brochure, and I calls them as I sees them.

Steve, is it Aventura green or Adventurine green? The plate says Adventurine. What is an "aventura", anyway?

Mike,
I believe it can be listed either way. Curious, eh? When I was looking at an Aventurine green car, I was bombarded with different ways to spell this color. Thinking that people was just murdering the proper word, when I checked paintscratch.com for colors, I found 2 listing for this color Aventura green(39s) and Aventurine green(39r).
As for Artic silver, it seems that color was only offered on 97-98 cars and polar silver on 95-96 cars. Mind you I'm talking about c2 cars, as I've seen listing for some turbos, cabs and c4s cars that seemed not to follow that logic.
go figure!

for a general idea of colors offered for each of the years, try going to paintscratch.com and look at the samples pulled up when you fill in the year and model of Porsche.

Hi Sodly
I've got a Turqoise metallic L25D. Pic attached - it's only the dealer advert picture - i haven't got round to taking any myself yet. Don't know about year specific but I heard there were only 4 this colour registered in 1996 in the UK
Cheers

...my '98 C2S is Forest Green Metallic, possibly the only coupe of this color in North America(?)...it was a custom order by P.O...the color is listed as an option for the '99 996 model, but is not listed as an option on the 993. This is not Rain Forest or Aventurine...has anyone seen this color before?
