Default 991.2 X-PIPE

Especially for NON-PSE owners, has anyone installed a fabspeed or any other brand X-pipe on their 991.2?

Any coments on the sound? or soundclips?

I'm also interested what people think of their 991.1 installs as well. Here's what Fabspeed is recommending - any sound clips of this setup would be greatly appreciated.

Working on finding someone running this exact combination for you, wish our system was more friendly to searching purchased product combinations haha.

In 991.2 with PSE, the center muffler is bypassed when in Sport. Is it right to assume that a X-pipe is not going to do much?

With the valves open, the PSE center muffler is bypassed internally not externally so there is still a little bit of muffling of residual sound. However, in our opinion due to how straight through that bypass is it wasn't worth a replacement of the center muffler itself. On the PSE cars, unrestricting upstream from the center muffler via the cats offers the best improvement in performance and maintains the variety of exhaust notes from the center muffler. It's actually pretty cool, not only do you get two different sound from having valves open vs valves closed, but Sport versus Sport Plus makes a big difference as well. In Sport mode the wastegates are open and provides a much more naturally aspirated burble/overrun and overall agression, Sport Plus the wastegates are closed and has little to no burble/overrun and less overall aggression but more turbo sound.

Bumping this thread with a question to Alec@Fabspeed, hopefully you can help ... how does a base/stock 991.2 Carrera with PSE in Sport mode compare in sound to a non PSE car with your X-pipe only in Sport mode?

Thanks in advance!

In comparison, a base 991.2 with PSE with valves open should be slightly louder than a base 991.2 Non-PSE with our Center Muffler Bypass X-Pipe in sport mode. A base 991.2 w/PSE valves closed, will be quieter than our Center Muffler Bypass on a Non-PSE 991.2.

Here is a video of the full 991.2 Exhaust Suite:

I don't have a video of just the X-Pipe, but if anyone is local and wants to swing by for an install, I can certainly extend a package deal
