Coupe vs Convertible

I have had true convertibles and targas. All were used for more than just fair-weather joy rides. Some even had winter wheels and tires.
For all of them, the initial novelty induced lots of top down/off driving. But after a while, for all again, the open air episodes declined over time, and I might as well have owned a coupe (which certainly would have been less squeaky).
I would recommend, as best as possible, looking beyond what you envision during the first months of ownership.

Cab is uglier though.

To me, the 991 is the first 911 cabriolet where Porsche finally got the top right. It still maintains the lines of the 911, much more than the previous generations. I loved my 997 cab, and I love my 991 cab. You can't beat the top down experience in a 911.

I love my 991.1 GTS cab. I drive with the top down 75% of the time. I live by the beach in So Cal so I am in the perfect weather environment for year-round top down driving. The sound of the NA flat six is simply sublime with the top down. Further, the car is remarkably quiet with the top up for those times when I want a little peace and quiet from the outside world. A win-win!

I think if you think you might want a cab then you probably do want one. I'm also a biker, and for me only open-air is the complete driving experience. Plus I live in England and we need to take in all the sunshine we can get!

Had a '09 C4S Cab that was a blast to drive and awesome with the top down. Eventually traded it for a '15 C2S Coupe/Sunroof. I like the look of the coupe better. Can't go wrong either way. Suppose I could look for an older cab to add to the garage, but the couch isn't that comfortable to sleep on. . . .

Go with the cab if there is any question. It will save you money in the long run. I was torn between the two in 2015 and ended up with a coupe. 16 months later I ordered a cab. Now awaiting delivery. I live in New England and I drive my 911 9-10 months a year as my daily driver. Just my 2 cents

both , esp when I haven't driven the other body style for awhile ... each has its own vibe and gives me a different driving experience !
