Quote Joec500: Another option to check with your local used tire places OR ebay and just get a nice used tire. I try to keep a pair on hand at all times.
There are guys that make a business on retrieving tires from lease returns and re-selling the tires.
I have been doing this with all my cars for the past 5 years without issues.

+1 as long as the date code is within the last year or two why not ? Then get the most out of the four P-Zero's then switch over to the MPSS's. T

I replace tires at the same time for even wear patterns and drive. What a waste to shave down a brand new tire.

Wow that almost exact same thing happened to me. Neighbor down the street was fixing his house, I ran over a nail. Car has about 4k miles on it. The right rear had the nail. I just replaced the right rear no problem. It wore in nicely. With a little over 11k miles on the car now about time to replace them all with MPSS and I can't wait.

It's always (most always) the right rear. Still amazes me that a nail gets stood up, and the rear tire can stab it. Serendipity.

Exactly my plan, since the front tires can easily last through two cycles of rears! MPSS are my fav street tire

Recently drove a right hand (imported grey market) Japanese car in Charlotte, NC. Never paid much attention as a passenger in a US car. Noticed while driving this right hand drive car how much debris is on the right shoulder. T

I decided to stop being a cheap b*stard and ordered another new rear to replace the pair... means that once these expire all 4 should be ready to replace with MPSS or MPS4S (when they become available)

The (mostly unrelated) event that encouraged me to do this was a day driving at Sears Point in my GT3 on its original PZero Corsa's (7k miles, 6 yrs old - yes 6) ... the understeer going down the
carousel was "epic" ...

needless to say the GT3 is getting some new MPSC2's *very soon* ... ka-ching.

I relearned the lesson that while driving a high performance $100k+ sports car one should not skimp on the contact patch - its the thing that keeps you glued (or not) to the road ...

But now, because you have been rolling on that one new tire for a couple weeks and likely a few miles already, you really should replace both again as you will know in your heart that one clearly has more wear than the other. Like a dog chasing its tail!!! ;-)

Nope - the car has not moved since I lowered it off the jacks!

Yikes....the dreaded flat spots. Sounds like you need 3 new ones. ;-)
