my guess is early june depending where in the US you are. keep in mind the dealer should have the exact schedule for your car (within a week or so) in the tracking system. ask them to give you a printout of the tracking...

They only have a build schedule atm. Do you mean I should ask them after my car is built for the precise schedule?

My understanding is that shortly after the order is accepted in the system it generates a whole schedule of key dates all the way to delivery to the dealer. others have posted examples of what it looks like in other threads in here.

That's not going to happen. 6 weeks to west coast average. Not three weeks. He made a mistake.

Default Crappy discount

I finally received an allocation slot today, we went over the vehicle price and I was told that my discount would be 2%. Not happy, so I countered with at least a 5% discount. Waiting..........we'll see???? I hate this part!

This is terrible. Push them hard and don't be shy, it's a lot of money so each percentage point counts.

I'm going Saturday and will bring my CA a bottle of acid reducer...for the inevitable heart burn that I'll give him during the negotiations round! Can't wait to observe his reaction.

Wants to meet in the middle @ 3.5! He told me that Targa and Turbo allocations are far and few in between. It is very hard to get the Targa allocation so I should go with the 3.5. Said, 991.2 Targa's usually go for sticker??? IDK??

I'm looking at a base 911 or an S and this would be my first Porsche so I can't help you much
From prior experience, dealers will play the "hard to get" allocation game so your deal will be a mix of your tolerance for overpaying/timing/customer service and convenience.

I like a good deal so will squeeze hard but clueless about overall availability vs demand for my potential choice

Good luck

it is a reasonable deal IMO.... from what we heard on this forum, discounts have been averaging 3 to 4%, with the range being zero to 6%... So for a Targa it is probably right in line with what the market seems to bear.... keep in mind that there are only so many dealers you can shop with, it is not a Toyota... and of course there is a time value... how much is it worth to you to have a secure spot and knowing you will get the car within a reasonable time frame?

just for sanity check, it would be worthwhile to check dealers in other parts of the country for a PEC Atlanta delivery...

Dealers have very few allocations right now. They are filling the available slots with sold units. You may get your price but don't expect a quick delivery.

My sense is that now that production is in full swing, if you order today you can get a car within 3 to 4 months....that's what I was quoted last weekend at least...

Yes, I asked to meet @ 4%. I think that's fair, invoice on this car is about 135-140. That means the net is around 8K on a sold car, not bad!

Thursday is the end of month and the quarter. While they cannot count it as sold until it is actually sold, it may help you... Good luck... Let us know how it plays out.
