Long list... Tough to complain

Sure the 18 ways aren't more comfy?

Congrats on the order and getting a build slot. Are you keeping your C2S until the GTS arrives? If so, the wait should be "manageable", LOL.

No, I'm not. But I have the 14 ways in my C2S and they've been fine.

My longest road trip was about 5 hours to Indy, and I doubt I'll do that again.

Yes, I am. And you're right, that will help quite a bit.

OK, so now a few decisions to make. I met with my SA this evening, and the only thing I decided for sure was to go with the SD mirrors.

CL wheels. I'm leaning away from them, for all the obvious reasons. 1 thing did occur to me though; I don't think I'd ever need to worry about my wheels getting stolen.

PDK. This really is up in the air. I like the MT, except when stuck in traffic, but really, that doesn't happen too often. Neither of my kids can drive a manual, and don't seem interested in learning. My wife can, but her eyes lit up when I mentioned maybe getting a PDK. Another thing, and shame on me for not investigating sooner, my main idea behind the PDK was getting a remote start. That's not going to happen.

On the other hand, I know the PDK would be faster than the MT, and the times I do get stuck in traffic, I'd really appreciate it.

Color. Black is my favorite. Getting the metallic is partially a compromise for the wife. She likes the 'sparkly'. She'd really prefer the yellow, and while I think it looks great, it's not for me. Same with red. Yes, it's boring, but i like black.

Some things are absolutes for me. Glass sunroof, leather dash and seats, ventilated seats,... I used to count MT in with these, but now I wonder if I'd prefer the extra 4/10 quicker to 60.

I still have a couple weeks, but this is where I'm at.

CL: you should do it. Very special part of the car. If they can manage to stay on a Turbo S or GT3, yours probably won't fall off. And as long as your dealer matches other tire store prices, would you really ever let a non-dealer work on car?

PDK: this is one of those things you KNOW you want and fight with anyone who disagrees. You through out lots of stats and facts defending your position. This doesn't sound like you. My suggestion: if on fence = MT. If you are not 100% automatic, then default to a stick.... Lower margin of regret....

Swapping out summer/winter tires is the only thing done to my car not at the dealer. I've done that myself. I'm not worried about them coming off, but I've never done CLs, and they look like a PIA. Also, I think my winter wheels will fit.

And my gut tells me that I'm trying to talk myself into a PDK.

Great car! I think the PDK/MT decision is a personal one based on how you plan to use the car (and your affinity to shifting). Also, the color is the most personal choice of all - depends on if you are up for the cleaning.

One comment I would have on your build is a recommendation to get the Sport Design steering wheel over the MF. particularly if you are getting the PDK so that you have the paddle shifters. And it looks a lot better IMO. When I switched cars it was a must have for me.

While not the MF, check out this swap someone just did.

Clear tail lights is also a personal choice - you'll get varied opinions on here, so just make sure you've seen what you are getting.

One other thing - have you seen the sport design mirrors? May want to check them out if you haven't seen them

I really don think I would use the paddles very often, if I get the PDK. The MF wheel is something I've wished I had ever since I bought my C2S. I can see myself using launch control every once in a while, but other than that it would mostly be in auto.

I read on here that black isn't a color, it's a hobby, and how true that is!! But when it's clean, it's gorgeous.

I have clear taillights now, so that's covered. I haven't seen the Jet Black Metallic in person, but imagine the taillights will looks pretty similar. From what I'm told, it doesn't have as much flake as the Basalt I have now.

I've already decided to get the SD mirrors. I was thinking about the folders for backing into my garage. I really have plenty of room, though, so I don't need them. After my trip to the dealer last week, and seeing the SD in person, that's what I want.

I put about 350 miles on my car this w/e, driving by myself. I spent a lot of time thinking about the different options, and what I'd use and wouldn't. I'm pretty sure I have it settled, aside from the wheels.

PDK shifts like a soccer mom's minivan doing the school run (except when in sport+)

Yep, my heart just isn't in a PDK. I have to stay with MT.

Stick with MT. On the GTS (in particular), it's sublime.

I did. Sent my SA the final changes today.

MT, door panels in leather, painted headlight washers, and Carrera S wheels.

One counter point . . . I went to PDK on my "S" with the sport steering wheel after over 40 years of manuals. I will never look back, it's been a good decision for me. And, I use the paddles all the time, even in the auto mode. In traffic (seems like all the time) I use the coast function. In 6th or 7th gear pull on the up-shift paddle and it goes into coast. When doing spirited drives I still shift in the manual mode.
