Ultimate? That would be a 919. Stepping down to 911s, I'd pick one that has won LeMans outright, like a 935 or a GT1.

919 would make a fabulous daily driver! Especially in rush hour!

I managed to narrow it down to two:

GT1 Evo road car or
RSR 3.0 liter

GT2 RS, Carrera Speedster and 911R get honorable mentions. All for different reasons.

I would love to have a Singer but would have any of the above first.

I think it might be.

I think it's a very distilled taste of the experience we hope to capture driving a Porsche. Want to go faster? If that's your "most ultimate" goal, go find it. Want to go better? Singer (cost no object) might be it!

So the ultimate Porsche for me is the 4.0!
As the founder of "996 RS Intl Rescue" I'm afraid I am going to have to confiscate your car sir!

Actually, I thought about it, but I limited myself to cars that rolled out of the factory. My constraint...

If you have the time review here:

http://singervehicledesign.com
It's definitely not the ultimate for me. I've the read the reviews of the Singer, watched a few videos and it does look cool. But I think it's too much like a Vertu phone: expensive for the sake of being expensive, the luxury versus premium thing. My ultimate Porsche is the one I own but even with an almost unlimited amount of money to spend on additional cars, I'm not sure I'd ever get a Singer. 918? Yes (if only because my 10 year old thinks we should have one!). 1964 911? Sure. 919? Why not! Singer? Meh. I'll spend my ~$500k on something else...

That said, I'm glad they're making them.

in terms of a street 911, yes. The Singer is the ultimate 911. But lets not forget it is a custom.

It isn't a Porsche made by Porsche so it wouldn't qualify for me. For a fraction of the money my choice would be a bone stock 100 point restoration of a '95 993 C2...plus the same for a 996 tt. I would be totally satisfied with those two cars.

I think it would be awesome if Singer started making 993's. I can't image how nice it would be.

There are guys on here asking what color they should order their $200K Turbo S in because they don't know what to do and other guys creating polls because they don't know which rims to put on their car. Guys who can't dress Barbie can't tell you what the ultimate Porsche is, and even the guys who have something worthwhile to offer here won't agree on what the ultimate Porsche is. The ultimate Porsche is whatever you think it is.

FWIW, I like the Singer and gave it a long, hard look. You can't get much of one for $350K as you probably know. The bill now is $600K plus. The thing is a work of art, but that is part of the problem. A new 911 is a work of art so precious that there are threads asking if RListers park at the mall or drive in the rain. For what a Singer costs I can get four or five new 911s the way I want them, drive them hard and walk away a happy man.

Hey, I know what art is when it comes to cars. It's something I enjoy driving and am not a slave to.

+1

We think alike. I enjoy my car, but it's still a car.
