Factory running ahead right now...
... at least for me.
Had a 3/27 (two days from now) build date and it's already on its way to the port of Emden yesterday when I checked! Got the VIN and everything.
I had settled in for a longer wait, but looks like it won't be so bad.
I ordered on Sat 2/14 and it locked on 2/19, iirc.
Fortunately, East Coast port is in my state, so usually just a few days after arrival before it's at the dealer. But all dependent on customs at both ends, I'm told. So hurry up and wait some more.
Anyway, happy to see they're running ahead of promise. Not always the case!
Maybe I'm just lucky -- ordered a Wrangler last year this time and the "6-8 week wait" took exactly 6 weeks from Saturday order to Saturday pickup.

Had a build date mid March, last reported placement was at Emden waiting on das boat, maybe they will jump that same ship! Dealer is keeping me updated fairly well and is supposed to let me know the name of the boat ASAP. Every Porsche that I have ordered (except one over the German holiday season) arrived early. Can't wait....

I was shocked when I ordered my 435 last year. Six weeks from finalizing order with the dealer to delivery of the finished car to the dealer in California.
What's the projected total timeline from order to delivery for you?

Apologies for stepping in - but I too am in the middle of the process - and in fact just got a call from the dealer to tell me that the truck just arrived. To the OP's point - it's going very fast. As follows:
- 1/6 called dealer with build sheet
- 1/24 lock
- 2/20 exit production
- 3/9 loaded at Emden on Genius Highway
- 3/20 arrive at port Davisville RI USA
- 3/26 Midwestern US dealership
So total time right now (East coast US port) seems to be <3 mos.

Mine was about 10 weeks from ordering it to having it in my driveway in Toronto.
I'm so curious has long it would theoretically take if:
The moment you placed your order they started builiding your car the next day.
It only takes a day to make one car.
The ship was waiting to leave the moment your car was loaded on to it.
It was cleared at port and loaded on to a rail car right away and arrived at your dealership 2 days later.
Your dealer PDI'd it the moment it arrived and called you in that evening to pick it up.
Could you have your car from start to finish in under 2 weeks? If every step of the process went as fast and smoothly as theoretically possible? I'm not saying it could/would ever go this fast, but if there were no delays, no red tape, no processing, no waits. Just the time it took to physically complete each step, how fast could you theoretically have a car sitting in your driveway from time you ordered it?
