Thoughts on GTS carmine red interior package with sapphire blue? I really like the red stitching and tach. safer bet would be to go rhodium silver interior. I've seen pics of caymans and panamera's with the red and blue combo but not on a 991.

I would say no... red stitching on a blue car just ain't my bag. If only Sapphire Blue stitching was an option!

I agree, but I think it can be done if you're really into it. The red stitching will never be seen from the outside, so it won't be an obvious clash.

There's another member here who is putting together the best GTS exterior color (sapphire blue) and the best interior color (black/garnet red) - the superman combo. If he can make that work, a little red stitching should be fine!

I think that Sapphire Blue with Carmine red stitching would look just fine.

And yes, there are at least a few Sapphire Blue cars with red interiors out there.......

Whew! Sapphire/Garnet Red. I bet that's just not how he saw it in his mind's eye when he checked the boxes.

When that happens on a bedroom test wall my wife just tells the painter, "Hmmm... let's try one shade lighter," and it costs me another seventy bucks. I don't know WHAT you do if you have something like that Cayman on your hands.

At least in my mind.

Alas, PTS was closed for 2015, and with all the up-in-the-air about 2016 turbo motors, I wanted to go ahead and finalize. So I kept the interior and draped GTSilver over it. Isn't that what the model name stands for anyway?

Take some pics so we can give our opinions. I love black/garnet. But I wonder if you can order black carpet with it instead of red.

Wow, the PTS option for '16 is really tempting.... This, along with fact that '16 model GTSs will inhearently be worth more than '15 for similar configurations, almost makes me want to start the waiting process all over

No. I tried; the store manager tried to pull strings (PCNA is right up the road and the dealer is a Premier dealer) and was told flat out, nope. I believe they said you can't even do it in a Turbo; only a Turbo S.

Now if you go through Exclusive and don't mind a long wait, maybe you can custom deviate the carpets. But with the Turbo S there are two boxes: Black/Garnet with Garnet carpet, or Black/Garnet with Black carpet.

I was a little bummed, but thankfully the mats are black, so it's really only the sides of the tunnels that are red, and that doesn't look bad.

I met a guy who owns a Turbo S and had chosen red carpet; I asked why and he pointed out that the alternating black, red, black makes the sides of the trans tunnel (the thin sliver of red) look like the wrong one was installed. When I studied the picture I could see what he means. So I'm happier now.

Plenty of black interior and an agate panamera with the carmine stitching so did not bother to take pics

I could go with the rhodium silver stitching but it doesn't have the same pop as the red. Alternatively, I could change the exterior color. Good thing I'm 8 weeks away from locking my build.

Wife came with me to the dealership and ended up building a Macan config after sitting in it. Something tells me X5 days are numbered

Spoke to my dealer today. Any 911 can have the deviated carpet for about $750 through the Exclusive program. So the option is there if you want it.
